[21.09.2015] Bloody Disgusting zitiert Eli Roth...
[...] When questioned about the upcoming Cabin Fever remake, Roth says assuredly that although director Travis Zariwny will be working off of the same script that Roth wrote when he was twenty-two, there will be minor changes to the plot. "Travis had a really interesting visual style and visual take and he wanted to change the deaths so that people knew the movie, but so that you could still have surprises, and I think he did a terrific job". Not wanting to hover, Roth has remained a supportive to Zariwny, without pressuring the prodigy to stick to the structure of the original film. "I looked at a cut, and gave him some notes in editing, but I really didn't want to be around" Roth claims, "I feel like I'm so associated with that movie that in this case, my presence on set would actually hurt it. I told him, I was like, 'Change whatever you want. This is your movie, and this is your vision of the script. This isn't like Eli's Cabin Fever, like go, have fun with it, and make it your own film". [...]

[16.02.2012] Heat Vision berichtet über die "Cabin Fever"-Prequels...
Comic book artist-turned-director Kaare Andrews is in final negotiations to direct Cabin Fever: Patient Zero, a sequel being made by U.S. and Dominican Republic-based producer, financier and distributor Indomina Group.
Patient Zero will tell the origin of the flesh-eating virus that was unleashed in the 2002 original, directed by Eli Roth. The new film follows the passengers of a cruise ship in the Caribbean that runs aground a research island. They must find a way to survive before the disease consumes them. Jake Wade Wall, who wrote the remake of The Hitcher, penned the script.
Original Cabin Fever producer Evan Astrowsky and hi Hypotenuse Pictures are producing the movie with Indomina. The plan is to segue this film into a second sequel, Cabin Fever: Outbreak. Indomina Group vice chairman and CEO Jasbinder Singh Mann is executive producing.
Filming will take place in the Dominican Republic. [...]

[01.11.2011] Wie CS! meldet, kommen gleich zwei neue "Cabin Fever"-Filme...
It was announced today that The Indomina Group, the fast-growing U.S. and Dominican Republic based producer and distributor of film, TV and trans-media content, and leading proponent of 'fanboy' cinema is resurrecting the popular "Cabin Fever" franchise and will produce and distribute at least two more feature films. The announcement was made by Indomina Group Vice Chairman and CEO Jasbinder Singh Mann.
The Indomina Group has optioned the rights for two new "Cabin Fever" installments, which will be "Cabin Fever: Patient Zero" and "Cabin Fever: Outbreak." The films will be shot back to back in the Dominican Republic in early Spring of 2012.
Jake Wade Wall ("The Hitcher," "When Strangers Call") has signed on to pen the screenplay for "Cabin Fever: Patient Zero." When a cruise ship in the Caribbean collides with an abandoned research vessel, a deadly virus is unleashed. Passengers must find a way to survive before the flesh eating disease consumes them all.
"Cabin Fever: Outbereak" is being written by Adam and Deborah Marcus ("Leatherface 3D," "I Walked With a Zombie"). In this film a doctor and his family travel to a remote Caribbean island to investigate a minor flu outbreak, only to discover a vicious flesh-eating virus that threatens everyone on the island. The family is faced with responsibility to prevent a worldwide epidemic.
Original "Cabin Fever" producer Hypotenuse Pictures is producing these next two films. Indomina Group Vice Chairman and CEO Jasbinder Singh Mann is executive producer on both films.
"We see tremendous potential with the 'Cabin Fever' franchise," said Singh Mann. "We are committing to two new 'Cabin Fever' films because there is a real demand from a devout fanbase - not just 'Cabin Fever' die hards but a large and vocal group of horror fans around the world. Indomina is excited to take the reigns of the franchise and deliver on these next two films." [...]

[16.10.2009] STYD sprach mit dem Produzenten und dem Cast von "Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever"... Vorsicht SPOILER !!!

[26.09.2009] B-D meldet...
[...] Lionsgate is planning a February 2010 release for Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever, although nothing is set in stone yet. In the sequel to Eli Roth's breakthrough horror film, the killer virus comes out of the woods and has a date at the high school prom. Spring Fever was directed by Ti West and stars Judah Friedlander, Larry Fessenden, Alexi Wasser, Rider Strong, Giuseppe Andrews, Rusty Kelley, Marc Senter and Mark Borchardt.

[03.09.2009] sprach mit dem Regisseur Ti West über das Sequel...
[...] He explained that the Lionsgate recut of his Cabin Fever 2 is now complete and that he wishes to disown it. According to him, his edit was like a John Waters or Todd Solondz film (yes, really) and featured heart wipes and star wipes (er...) and that the current version is much less esoteric and idiosyncratic. Yeah, West... but is it any better?

[17.11.2007] Der TV-Sender Pro7 zeigt heute um 22.15 Uhr "Cabin Fever" als deutsche Free-TV-Premiere in HD-TV...

[26.04.2007] B-D berichtet über das Sequel...
One film that I'm pretty damn excited for is Lionsgate's Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever, which recently wrapped production in Wilmington, NC. After everything I've heard and all of the bloody photos hitting the net I'm starting to think we're in for one hell of a good time! I got so excited the other day that I caught up with writer/director Ti West who helped clarify what type of movie this really is. Read on for the skedaddle...
A lot of fans are speculating that the sequel will be quite different than Eli Roth's film - and they're right, "It's total anarchy of a movie," Ti tells Bloody-Disgusting, "I love old Corman movies especially early Joe Dante and Paul Bartel... It's sort of like one of those film (in tone) but with as much blood as a Peter Jackson movie." As much blood as in a Peter Jackson movie?! Are you freaking serious?! Sounds like more than was The Reaping had in their movie...
Now that we know that CABIN FEVER 2 is going to be extremely gory, we has to ask Ti if he has a fear of the MPAA, "I have a pretty morbid sense of humor and I think it will be pretty evident. I'm not sure what the MPAA will say when the time comes but there is certainly some very "questionable" content."
In CABIN FEVER 2: SPRING FEVER the killer virus comes out of the woods and has a date at the high school prom. Judah Friedlander, Larry Fessenden, Alexi Wasser, Rider Strong, Giuseppe Andrews, Rusty Kelley, Marc Senter and Mark Borchardt all star.
Watch for CABIN FEVER 2 in early '08.

[15.03.2007] Moviehole berichtet über das Sequel...
Though most of its contents have already been splashed about the web already, The Hollywood Reporter does have a pretty stout article on the now-filming "Cabin Fever 2" that reveals quite a few juicy elements of the production - including the storyline.
The site reports that in the film we discover that "[Rider] Strong's character, Paul, is alive and well and living in fear of his life in the sequel, "Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever". Giuseppe Andrews returns as the oddball Deputy Winston, who dumped the ill Paul in a stream at the end of the 2003 original. In the sequel, the killer virus comes out of the woods and has a date at the high school prom." [...]

[22.01.2007] Moviehole berichtet über das Sequel...
Associate of mine is going up for a role in Lionsgate’s "Cabin Fever 2 : Spring Fever", so thought I’d share with you guys what I know. [...]
I can tell you that the lead characters they’re looking to cast are :
John - A high school senior, smart, articulate, loyal to his best friend Alex.
Alex - A high school senior, outgoing, somewhat irrepressible, a bit mischievious, Alex is John's best friend, who urges John to take advantage of Cassie's newly single state to ask her to go to the prom with him.
Cassie - A beautiful high school senior, sweet, smart, a bit naive when it comes to guys but unexpectedly strong when she needs to be.
There are rumours that Rider Strong and Guiseppe Andrews are reprising their roles from the first film; but the whispers are fourth-hand, so take them with a grain of salt.
Ti West ("The Roost") directs.

[25.10.2006] Moviehole berichtet über das Sequel...
[...] The long-awaited sequel to Eli Roth’s aggressively silly but genially brilliant "Cabin Fever" is locked in for a January start date in the area, and we've been informed that casting begins this month.
Scooper ‘Sandy’ tells us that auditions are taking place, and the breakdowns suggest that the film centres on a group of all-new characters. "Though I believe Robert Harris, who played Old Man Cadwell in the first film, has been signed to reprise his role, so there will be a link to the first film".
The studio wasn’t brave enough to forge ahead with Roth’s idea for a sequel - "My concept for the sequel was a Song of the South-style half-animated film where Deputy Winston sings songs (ones I was forced to learn in Hebrew school) to imaginary creatures in his head, and has sex with the burned, rotted corpses of everyone who died in the original, but they didn’t go for it" Roth said. - so from what I can gather, they’re heading into ‘rehash’ territory instead. [...]

[29.12.2005] zitiert aus einem mit Eli Roth...
[...] I pitched them an idea for Cabin Fever 2. I turned in a 10-page treatment and they didn’t want to do it. That’s when I dropped out of the project. I said, "You know what? You guys do your own thing. Best of luck." And I mean that sincerely. If they feel they can do it better, then I’m curious. I’ll be excited to see it... [...]

[12.05.2005] Fangoria meldet...
The much-anticipated sequel to Eli Roth’s splattery success CABIN FEVER is currently in legal limbo and may never be made, according to Adam Green, writer/director of the new horror film HATCHET. Green was tapped to script the follow-up, which is currently caught in the middle of a tug of war between Roth and CABIN FEVER distributor Lions Gate Films.
"I wrote what was supposed to be the draft," Green tells Fango. "Lions Gate came to me, based on my script for HATCHET, and asked me for an idea. I gave them the concept, they hired me, they paid me, there’s a contract, I wrote it and it was going into production."
It was at that point, according to Green, that "Roth got very angry with Lions Gate. He really wanted to do it. He has written three different scripts for CABIN FEVER 2 and they [Lions Gate] didn’t like them. Now it’s all tied up in legal issues. The last I heard was that CABIN FEVER 2 was in limbo and, if it doesn’t get fixed soon, there's a chance that the movie will never happen, because it has already been so long since the first one."
Green has never actually met Roth, but says he can understand how the filmmaker might feel. "I can completely see his point of view. If it was me and it was HATCHET 2 and this guy came in with no [produced] horror credits and they wanted him to do it, I’d be pissed too. But I’ve completely stayed out of it. I wrote the script and they have it. I don’t know what’s going to happen."
Green refuses to discuss the storyline of his CABIN FEVER sequel take. "I love the script I wrote, and I believe the fans would love it. I was a huge fan of the first movie and that’s how I wrote it. But at the same time, you can’t argue with Eli Roth. He has a good point, and that point is that he should do it."

[09.03.2005] Heute veröffentlicht Sunfilm "Cabin Fever" auf DVD - als Single Disc Edition und Special Edition (2 DVDs)... Unbedingt zu empfehlen für alle Horror-Fans der alten und neuen Schule !!!

[20.11.2004] Moviehole sprach mit Eli Roth, u.a. über das Sequel...
[...] In fact, "Cabin Fever 2" is still a go-go for launch. "We are getting in the draft next week from Randy Pearlstein, who I co-wrote the first one with. He's got such a good idea for the sequel, and I can't wait to read it. Lion's Gate is rearin' to go, so hopefully once the draft comes in we'll start preproduction. I know I was the face of "Cabin Fever," but Randy really helped "flesh out" the characters before I killed them off in horrible ways" [...]

[19.11.2003] Moviehole sprach mit Rider Strong über das Sequel...
"[...] there will eventually be a Fever 2. And I'll be in it...but that's all I'm saying. Eli and I love working together; we're going to plug each other into as many projects as possible." [...]

[08.09.2003] sprach mit Eli Roth...
[...] Do you have sequel plans? Lion’s Gate is already hounding me about making a sequel. I actually have a story that actually brought the kids back in a really- - I don’t want to say it because I don’t want to ruin the movie for people.
We can assume most of the kids die. Some of the dead people will come back. I have an idea for a Cabin Fever sequel. I have a story written, but at this point, I kind of want to take a break from it. It’s been all I’ve been doing for so long and I think the best horror sequels, the creators have a few years between them. I’d like to see what works. I’d like to see what audiences respond to because I can go off and make a Cabin Fever sequel right now, but I’d rather see where people react and what kind of weird stuff they like and don’t like. I really want to make it weird and creepy though. In Cabin Fever 2, they wouldn’t be the stars. They’d just have a small role. [...]
