The rumours - which started third hand, so this is saying something - about Christopher Walken playing Ozzy Osbourne in the upcoming Motley Crue biopic "The Dirt" are true... Or so it seems.
Ex-Crue member (now ringleader of the lacklustre ‘Supernova’ outfit) Tommy Lee told Melbourne’s The Herald Sun that Director Larry Charles ("Borat") has indeed signed the tap-dancing maniac to play wild Ozzy in the movie.
I’m intrigued. Chris Walken as Ozzy Osbourne? Now that’s kinda cool. It’ll be more amusing than anything, but I think I like it. Granted, you probably could’ve gotten an actor that looked a little more (and probably sounds a little more) like the bat-eating musician... but this’ll do fine.
Lee told the paper that the film is still in the early stages.

Trotz der Ankündigung, keine neue Staffel der Doku-Soap "The Osbournes" mehr drehen zu lassen, hat Sharon Osbourne doch noch einer fünften Staffel zugestimmt, die MTV in Deutschland ab dem 16. März wöchentlich zeigt.
"MTV dreht für ein weiteres Jahr unsere Home-Videos, und wir kriegen sogar noch Geld dafür", erklärte die Managerin und Ehefrau von Black-Sabbath-Sänger Ozzy Osbourne. Die neue Osbournes-Staffel, deren Folgen in der Erstausstrahlung immer mittwochs um 17 Uhr laufen, gehört zu insgesamt sieben neuen Staffeln von MTV-Formaten, die im März und April auf Sendung gehen.
Dabei ist "The Osbournes" das einzige Format mit einem direkten Musikbezug. Bei den Reihen "Pimp My Ride", "Pimp My Fahrrad", "Get Packing", "The Real World", "Punk'd" und "Viva La Bam" geht es um so genannte Reality-Formate, bei denen etwa Autos und Fahrräder aufgemotzt werden oder das Sozialverhalten von Menschen getestet wird.

Nach Ende der dritten Staffel von "The Osbournes" wird es keine Fortsetzung der Reality-Sendung geben. Dies teilte Sänger und Hauptdarsteller Ozzy Osbourne im Umfeld der MTV Europe Music Awards in Rom mit. Er habe endgültig genug davon, in seinem Haus ständig Kameras um sich herum zu haben. Seine Frau und Managerin Sharon stimmte der Entscheidung zu: "Mittlerweile macht jeder eine Reality-Show", erklärte sie. "Ozzy hat das abgehakt, jetzt muss er sich etwas Neuem widmen."
"The Osbournes" startete vor zwei Jahren bei MTV USA und wurde zu einer der populärsten Formate des Musiksenders. Die Show, bei der das skurille Leben des alternden Rockstars, seiner Frau Sharon und seiner Kinder Kelly und Jack in 25-minütigen Episoden dokumentiert wurde, spülte rund 85 Mio. Dollar in die Haushaltskasse der Familie Osbourne.

Rock-fan Depp has been "fascinated" for years by the former Black Sabbath frontman-cum-reality TV star and sources close to the biopic say Depp can't wait to take on Osbourne's distinctive accent and characteristics.
Depp is starring in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, in which he has based his character, Captain Jack Sparrow, on Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards.
Osbourne's wife, Sharon, is developing the movie that will detail the rocker's famously raucous life.
Depp described Osbourne as "a deeply fascinating human".
The movie is expected to go into production next year.

Am 11. August startet auf MTV die dritte und letzte Staffel der Doku-Soap "The Osbournes". An den beiden Tagen zuvor strahlt der deutsche Musiksender ein 'Osbournes-Kick-Off-Weekend' aus, bei dem er alle 20 Folgen der ersten beiden Staffeln noch einmal zeigt. Eine neue Publikation aus dem Rockbuch Verlag über Ozzy Osbourne, "F***king Mad - Die Story zu seinen Songs. Das MTV-Buch" von Carol Clerk, soll die Wartezeit bis zum Sendestart verkürzen - und zugleich Aufmerksamkeit für die dritte Staffel generieren, nachdem die Quoten zur zweiten Reihe nicht das Niveau der Debüt-Staffel halten konnten. Eine der erfolgreichsten deutschen MTV-Sendungen indes war schon immer "MTV Select", die ab dem 14. Juli in neuer Form auf dem Bildschirm erscheint. Dazu gehören ein neu gestaltetes Studio und erneuertes Sendekonzept. So soll die Interaktion mit den Zuschauern bei der Show, die wochentags von 14 bis 16 Uhr läuft, noch ausgebaut werden.

Everyone's favourite mechanical bull - Irish spunk rat Colin Farrell is tipped to be playing legendary bad ass rocker Ozzy Osbourne in the new film about the life of the Black Sabbath lead singer turned reality show legend. Early reports indicate Farrell is the front-runner to play the British bad ass in the project which Paramount and MTV Films are negotiating to bring to the big screen. With Colin's sex, booze and smoking history he does seem at least somewhat qualified for the role - will he start torturing bats though?.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that a feature length film about the life of rocker Ozzy Osbourne may be in the works. Osbourne's wife Sharon has told the trade that they are in negotiations with an [unnamed] major studio and that she is helping to write the film's screenplay.
However, she did reveal that Ozzy wouldn't be in the film himself, but a possible actor to play him is the one any only Johnny Depp.
The Osbournes have of course found recent sucess with their MTV comedy series 'The Osbournes'. The new series is scheduled to start in the US on November 26th. Meanwhile Channel 4 are currently screening the first series for the first time on terrestrial television in the UK.
