Sex and the City|
Die TV-Serie "Sex and the City" basiert auf Candace Bushnell's provokantem Bestseller "Sex and the City" und gehört zu den wegweisendsten Serien des US-Fernsehens, wovon mehrere "Golden Globe"-Auszeichnungen eindrucksvoll Zeugnis ablegen...
Sarah Jessica Parker (u.a.

[...] even if "Sex and the City 2" consisted of nothing but a two-hour fashion show, it would draw crowds. But it also has the returning cast members in fine comic form, and it has more cutting-edge humor than the first movie. Critics will carp about the platitudes in the script and about the longueurs in the nearly 2 1/2-hour opus, but for the core audience, there will be no complaints about too much of a good thing. This picture is going to be a smash. [...]

Yahoo! Movies meldet...
"Sex and The City 2" stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis reunited in Las Vegas on Thursday where they accepted their ShoWest Ensemble Award for the upcoming film and its first installment, but one of their numbers was noticeably missing.
"We are not complete," Sarah Jessica told Access Hollywood's Billy Bush, who hosted the ShoWest ceremony and presented the ladies with the award, referring to the absence of Kim Cattrall, who is currently in London where she starring on the stage in "Private Lives." "She'll be back soon... She'll be in New York City where she belongs."
And in just a few months, on May 27, the Fab Four will be back where they belong - on the big screen. But filming the movie was incredible, according to SJP.
"I want to tell you this was an unusual experience, this was a once in a lifetime laborious, incredible, complicated, thrilling, intense experience," Sarah Jessica said.
It appears one of the reasons it was so exciting was the movie's multi-international team.
"There were times that our crew was made up of people from the U.K., Americans, South Africans, North Africans..." she said.
"Moroccan," Kristin chimed in.
"Scots, well, that's part of the U.K. and a couple of Irish... but it was incredible... it was a team," SJP added.
"French!" Kristin laughed.
But beyond its international flavor, as fans already know from the photos that have surfaced, "SATC2" features a blast to the past - showing off the girls in the '80s, when they first met.
"They had a lot of fun," Kristin said of her co-stars. "I was so boring in the '80s flashback. It was sad."
And Cynthia, who plays lawyer Miranda Hobbes, had a laugh describing her own flashback outfit.
"Once they put that wig on me and the bad business suit... and the Reeboks and the socks and the really bad gold jewelry..." Cynthia chimed in.
And the girls reminisced about the absent Kim's '80s flashback.
"Kim is like, way out there," Kristin said.
"CBGB," SJP said referring to the former NYC club. "She's a bartender."
"Shhh!" Kristin added. "I can't say... the lawyers will show up immediately and boy, I don't know what will happen."

Bei CS! gibt es Bilder von Miley Cyrus Gastauftritt in "Sex and the City 2"...
Variety.commeldet, soll Miley Cyrus einen Gastauftritt in "Sex and the City 2" haben...
[...] According to Gossip Cop, the current version of the script has Kim Cattrall (who plays Sex and the City's resident trysexual, Samantha) attending a red carpet event with a dress guaranteed to accent her youth and attractiveness. Unfortunately though, Cyrus shows up to the same event wearing the exact same dress [...]
In a seven-figure deal, Chris Noth has committed to "Sex and the City 2," the sequel to be directed by Michael Patrick King for New Line Cinema.
The pic shoots in early September, and Warner Bros. has set a May 28, 2010, release date. The original grossed $412.6 million worldwide.
Noth will next be seen onscreen in "My One and Only" and will reprise his Off Broadway role in the play "Farragut North," which opens at L.A.'s Geffen Playhouse in June and also stars Chris Pine.
Sarah Jessica Parker spoke to Access Hollywood about the upcoming "Sex and City" sequel, stating that the goal is to make the new movie more sensitive to the growing global financial crisis. Does that mean that the girls will have to now choose between a Prada and Gucci purse, rather than buying both?
Here is what Parker had to say: "How do we do that well? And how do we do that in a not lazy way? How do we address these economic times in a franchise that has a lot to do with luxury and labels? There is a lot that we have to think about because times are very different. So these are nice challenges, these are good challenges."
She added that the sequel will be more fun than the first movie. "I think we want this one to be a romp," she explained. "The last one, we got to tell a really mature sophisticated story that had real heartbreak in it, and this time, I think we want a romp."
Rumors about "Sex and the City 2" are already floating around, stating that Carrie (Parker) will have a baby and will have to deal with Mr. Big cheating on her. Both rumors seem false to me, since Carrie has already stated that she will never have a baby in the "Sex and the City" movies and Mr. Big cheating on her keeps the film from being a "romp."
Variety.com berichtet über die Fortsetzung zum erfolgreichen Kinofilm...
"Sex and the City 2" has moved closer to the starting line with Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis signed for the sequel along with writer-director-producer Michael Patrick King.
No start date's set for shooting and no script's been written. New Line president Toby Emmerich has been aiming to fast-track the project in hopes of a summer 2010 release.
As on the original, John Melfi and Parker will be producers on the sequel with King.
"Sex and the City'' opened in May, four years after the finale of the HBO series, and focused on the nuptials of Carrie Bradshaw to Mr. Big, portrayed by Chris Noth.
The film performed impressively with $152 million domestically and $260 million more from international markets, which had been sold off by New Line to finance the project. The slimmed-down New Line no longer uses pre-sales.
Variety.com berichtet über die Einspielergebnisse...
[...] "Sex and the City" stayed solid as a counter-programmer. Pic's foreign cume hit $170 million -- nearly $40 million ahead of the domestic total -- with its combo of comedy, fashion and romance continuing to lure female customers. "Sex," which edged "Skull" to win the foreign crown two weekends ago, struck gold in the booming Russian market with a $4.2 million opening, more than doubling the launch of "You Don't Mess with the Zohan." The Spanish opening of "Sex" was more moderate with $2 million. [...]

[...] Curiosity did get the best of Kristin Thursday night, when she asked the writer directly if he had another movie idea in his head - but she stopped short of asking if it was specifically for Sex and the City II.
"If I'm lucky enough, I'll try to do another movie," said Michael, with a beaming smile. "I'd love to do another one!"
CS! berichtet über die US-Einspielergebnisse...
[...] New Line Cinema and HBO Films' Sex and the City surpassed all expectations, opening to an estimated $55.7 million from 3,285 theaters for an average of $16,968 per location. The Friday-to-Sunday figure marks the biggest R-rated comedy opening of all time, beating the $45.1 million debut of American Pie in 1999. Among all R-rated films, it ranks as the fifth-biggest behind The Matrix Reloaded ($91.8 million), The Passion of The Christ ($83.8 million), 300 ($70.9 million) and Hannibal ($58 million). The film is also the best opening ever for a live-action adaptation of a TV series, beating Mission: Impossible's $45 million opening. Starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, the Michael Patrick King-directed pic cost about $65 million to make. [...]
Bei AICN gibt es eine Kritik von Capone...
[...] I was kind of hoping this film would move me more than it did so I could recommend it wholeheartedly. Instead, the film parades familiar faces before our eyes to invigorate our sense of nostalgia, but fails to earn our respect by not giving us something new and great.

[...] could a sequel be far behind?
"I don’t know," Cynthia said. "We were [at such a] breakneck speed to get this first movie out, I don’t know if there would be a second one, but it’s not up to me."
According to Cynthia, however, there is plenty left over should another movie appear on the cards.
"I feel like we could release a second movie just based on stuff that we’ve cut out of this movie," she said. "Magda [Miranda’s nanny] had a whole romance with a Ukrainian guy!"
