Gegen den Willen ihres Mannes Christopher (Sean Bean, u.a.

Juli 2005...Das Drehbuch lieferte Roger Avary (u.a. "Pulp Fiction")...

The newest residents of Michael J. Bassett's world of Silent Hill: Revelation 3D are Carrie-Anne Moss ("The Matrix" trilogy, Memento, Unthinkable, Chocolat) who will play "Claudia Wolf" and Malcolm McDowell (Easy A, "Entourage," A Clockwork Orange) as "Leonard Wolf." Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is currently lensing in Toronto and produced by Samuel Hadida and Don Carmody.
Moss and McDowell join rising star Adelaide Clemens (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road), Kit Harington, and returning Silent Hill residents Radha Mitchell, Sean Bean and Deborah Kara Unger.
Hadida said: "Carrie has displayed her enormous talent across all genres - from 'The Matrix' trilogy to 'Memento' - and we are delighted for her to join the world of Silent Hill. She will certainly bring a new level of excitement to fans of the videogame franchise."
Director Michael J. Bassett said: "Malcolm is quite simply an icon of modern cinema and I've been a fan since I was a teenager when I managed to see 'A Clockwork Orange.' He has an amazing ability to bring new and unexpected dimensions to his characters and I know he will bring something unique and disturbing to Silent Hill." [...]

Davis Films producer Samuel Hadida and Don Carmody announced today that the stars of Silent Hill, Radha Mitchell (The Crazies, Surrogates), Sean Bean (HBO's upcoming series "Game of Thrones," Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, "The Lord of the Rings"), and Deborah Kara Unger (Shake Hands with the Devil, 88 Minutes) will return to join Adelaide Clemens (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Mad Max: Fury Road) and Kit Harington ("Game of Thrones") on Silent Hill: Revelation 3D.
Filming in Toronto, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is based on a screenplay by director Michael Bassett (Solomon Kane, Deathwatch), who is joined by cinematographer Maxime Alexandre (The Crazies, Mirrors, The Hills Have Eyes), production designer Alicia Keywan (The Haunting in Connecticut, Messengers), costume designer Wendy Partridge (Silent Hill, Hellboy, Underworld) and edited by Michele Conroy (Vincenzo Natali's Splice).
International sales are being handled by Lionsgate.
Bassett said: "It wouldn't be the same without some of the original 'Silent Hill' cast. Sean, Radha and Deborah's return will certainly thrill fans of the franchise and compliment Revelations stars Adelaide and Kit."
Alexandre added: "With the most advanced technology available, in particular the lighter, smaller and more flexible 3D Red Epic, we are able to take audiences deeper in the world of 'Silent Hill' than they ever dreamed possible. Devotees will finally be able to enter this realm along side of Heather, Vincent, Harry and Rose and experience the psychological horror and the fear of the unknown with them."
Hadida and Carmody most recently produced Resident Evil: Afterlife starring Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, and Wentworth Miller. Past collaborations include Resident Evil: Apocalypse and the earlier Silent Hill.
Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is based on the acclaimed survival horror videogame franchise by KONAMI and is the sequel to Hadida and Carmody's earlier Silent Hill directed by Christophe Gans. For years, Heather Mason (Clemens) and her father have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn't fully understand. Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by terrifying nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she's not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever. [...]

[...] "It's early days, and I'm keeping details of the plot secret for now," he told us, "but it's going to be a sequel to the first film whilst trying to remain true to the plot of game 3, and will also work as a stand-alone movie for people who don't know the series." That chimes nicely with the sketchy early reports that the film's protagonist would be Heather Mason, a teenager on the run, who begins to experience dreams of Silent Hill on the eve of her eighteenth birthday, and is led towards the mystery of her father's disappearance.
What we didn't know is that Bassett has written his own screenplay; last we heard (a year ago), the sequel's script, like its predecessor, was being bashed out by Roger Avary. We can only speculate what might have happened to Avary's involvement in the meantime (he's not been having the best time of it lately), but Bassett's version seems to be his own, rather than a re-draft.
"It was a real challenge writing it," he tells us, "and I spent a long time revisiting the games and reading just about every little piece of material I could find on the mythology. Of course, my choices may not please everyone, but the ambition is to give the audience a twisted, intense and terrifying experience, following a really interesting story, anchored by a terrific cast giving great performances. It's more than you get from most horror movies these days, I know, but I figure why not aim high and try to bring a bit of quality back to a genre that's rarely treated with respect?" [...]

Finally, it’s been announced and I can say officially what I’ve been eager to share with you all for a little while now; I’ve written and am going to be directing the new Silent Hill movie.
I love the games and was a huge admirer of the first film. Especially how Christophe Gans and his team managed to capture the look and feel of the world. I say, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, so I’m bringing back as many of that core creative team as I can - but I’m probably going to bring just a little more darkness and fear into the mix as well. I love the complex mythology and psychological twists that Konami created so will do my best honour that aspect too.
I’m determined to deliver a film that builds on the qualities of the first film and draws on the best aspects of the games whilst giving the audience more nuanced characters, a compelling story and introducing some terrifying new monsters (as well as bringing back a few favourites) and, most important of all... just scaring the shit out of everyone.

[04.11.2010] Teaser-Trailer.com meldet...
Director Michael J. Basset (who directed Solomon Kane) is set to direct Silent Hill 2 Revelation, the movie sequel to Silent Hill. Here’s the plot of Silent Hill Revelation: "The sequel follows Heather Mason, along with her father, who have been on the run - always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t full understand, Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by horrific nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever."
Hmm, sounds like this new Silent Hill movie is actually based on the game Silent Hill 3.
By the way, the movie Silent Hill 2 will be in 3D. [...]

[03.11.2010] B-D meldet...
[...] Lionsgate International will begin pre-sales on Silent Hill 2, the sequel to the 2006 video game adaptation directed by Christophe Gans, and starring Radha Mitchell, Sean Bean, Laurie Holden, Deborah Kara Unger, Kim Coates and Tanya Allen. No other details are available, but Roger Avery was rumord to be penning the sequel to the flick that follows a mother, in seeking to stop her daughter's night terrors, takes her to the town the girl mentions in her sleep... Silent Hill.

[09.05.2010] FEARNet sprach mit dem Produzenten Don Carmody...
[...] Can you give us anything on Silent Hill 2?
Just that we are hoping to start it in late spring in Toronto.

[14.11.2009] STYD meldet...
Silent Hill special makeup effects designer Paul Jones gave us an update about the sequel today on the Toronto set for Resident Evil: Afterlife.
"I was working on storyboards for that around the same time last year," Jones revealed. "It's going to be pretty crazy. There's a lot of cool stuff in there. Roger (Avary) has some awesome ideas and hopefully we're going to bring that to fruition sometime next year."
He would not comment on whether the script was complete, but he said that with a smile. [...]

[01.10.2009] CS! meldet...
Just two weeks ago it was announced that screenwriter Roger Avary and producer Samuel Hadida had signed up to return for Silent Hill 2. If the production is going to stick with Avary, however, they may have to wait a while as the Oscar-winning Pulp Fiction writer has just been sentenced to a year in jail for causing a fatal traffic crash in Southern California. He's also received five years of probation.
Avary pleaded guilty in August to gross vehicular manslaughter and drunken driving for the 2008 crash that killed a passenger in Avary's Mercedes in Ventura County. Authorities say Avary's car was traveling at more than 100 mph when it crashed into a telephone pole.
Avary's wife was ejected from the vehicle and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Avary, who co-wrote the screenplay for Robert Zemeckis' Beowulf, was also attached to direct and write the video game adaptation Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

[15.09.2009] THR.com meldet...
Roger Avary and Samuel Hadida of Davis Films are climbing back up "Silent Hill."
The screenwriter and producer have signed on for a sequel to their 2006 video game adaptation.
The original, based on the Konami game, centered on a woman who travels to a desolate town to seek help for her ailing daughter only to find supernatural occurrences taking place there.
Davis Films aims to shoot the movie next year after "Resident Evil 4," which it's now prepping.
TriStar released the original "Silent Hill," which earned $47 million domestically; the label has not confirmed involvement on the follow-up.
Avary, best known for his work on Quentin Tarantino scripts such as "Pulp Fiction," also is penning video game adaptation "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" for Davis Films.
The deal is one of several projects for Hadida's company. The French-based banner has come to Toronto with two projects -- Michael Bassett's "Solomon Kane" and the Terry Gilliam-helmed "The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus." [...]
