Das Kinderbuch "Ted" von Tony DiTerlizzi (u.a. "Die Spiderwick Geheimnisse") sollte verfilmt werden...
"Ted" ist ein imaginärer Freund, den ein kleiner Junge gezeichnet hat...
Ted has been around forever. He has been a great playmate to many children, and will always continue to do so. Sometimes, as in this book, he will remain with one family for several generations.
It is not known exactly what Ted is, or where he originates. Some people have suggested that he is an Irish Pooka, but his reply to that was "Bah! Pooka-Bazooka! I am pinkish, and purply and proud!"
[...] Joel McHale, who tomorrow hosts the 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards, is in final negotiations to join Mark Walhberg, Mila Kunis and Seth Macfarlane in Ted, the live action comedy that MacFarlane is directing for Universal Pictures and Media Rights Capital. McHale will play Rex, the sleazy boss who is perpetually putting the moves on his employee (Kunis). She wants to marry her boyfriend (Wahlberg), but won't until he redefines his relationship with his teddy bear, the one that came alive during a childhood wish and has become a slovenly womanizing slacker. Heat Vision meldet...
Mila Kunis and Adam Scott are in negotiations to join the cast of Ted, Universal and Media Rights Capital’s comedy written by and being directed by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane.
The movie centers on a man who as young boy made a Christmas wish that his Teddy Bear would come to life and be his best friend forever. Twenty-five years later, the bear is still at his side, but has now evolved into a cursing, smoking, delinquent (voiced by MacFarlane) that is preventing the man from maturing.
The studio is in final negotiations with Mark Wahlberg to star as the grown man.
Kunis will be Wahlberg’s girlfriend, who wants their relationship to move to the next level and finally has enough of him living with his best friend Ted. She turns to her cad of a boss, to be played by Scott, for comfort.
Scott Stuber is producing via his Universal-based Stuber Picrtures alongwise with MacFarlane, John Jacobs and MRC.
Universal’s senior executive vp of production Peter Cramer and creative exec Sara Scott will oversee Ted for the studio. [...]
Pajiba berichtete kürzlich über den möglichen Hauptdarsteller in Seth MacFarlane's "Ted"...
[...] Finally, Mark Wahlberg - of all people - is considering the lead role in Seth MacFarlane’s Teddy Bear, a comedy about a 33 year old man whose Teddy Bear comes to life and poses problems for him as an adult when it gets in the way of a relationship with his girlfriend. The Teddy Bear is described as something that, I shit you not, likes to party, pick up women, smoke pot, and play video games. Oh, Seth MacFarlane; you’re such an imbecilic asshole. Note, too, that there are roles in the movie for a racist homosexual, a woman obsessed with talking about men shaving their assholes, and a "Jewish-looking" person who makes anti-Semitic remarks. In other words: Typical MacFarlane.
Während Tony DiTerlizzi's "Ted" wohl nicht realisiert wird, berichtet
Deadline über Seth MacFarlane's "Ted"...
Universal Pictures has stepped up to acquire the $65 million budget Ted, an R-rated comedy that will mark the feature directorial debut of Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane. The film, which was developed by Media Rights Capital, is most succinctly described as a "Hard R" comedy about a man and his teddy bear. The feature will mix live action and CG. MacFarlane will also co-star and provide the voice for the CG-generated title character. MacFarlane wrote the script with Family Guy cohorts Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, and he will produce with MRC, Scott Stuber and John Jacobs.
I’ve heard that the intention of Universal, MRC and MacFarlane is to get the film into production this year. That is subject to delicate discussions that are taking place right now between Fox, MacFarlane's WME reps and attorneys Karl Austen and Jim Jackoway. MacFarlane will work the film around his exhausting duties supervising the animated Fox shows Family Guy, The Cleveland Show and American Dad!, and providing a majority of the voices. Fox and MacFarlane have long wanted to make a Family Guy theatrical feature, but Ted will come first. Fox apparently was reluctant to embrace the teddy bear movie because of its R-rating. [...]
