Mit "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" (dt. Oktober 2007. U.a. wirken mit Shia LaBeouf (u.a. "Transformers"), Cate Blanchett (u.a. "Der Herr der Ringe"), Ray Winstone (u.a. "Departed - Unter Feinden"), Jim Broadbent (u.a. "Bridget Jones", "Die Chroniken von Narnia: Der König von Narnia") und John Hurt (u.a. "Alien", "1984")...

[11.02.2012] Heat Vision sprach mit George Lucas...
THR: What’s the status of Indiana Jones 5? Steven Spielberg says he’s waiting to hear from you.
Lucas: I know, and I’m supposed to be working on it right now, but I’m talking to you instead (Laughs).

[14.12.2011] Slashfilm.com meldet...
The good news is that a fifth Indiana Jones film is still in the works. The bad news is that no one's sure exactly how long it's going to take to see the light of day. Although Steven Spielberg recently told Entertainment Weekly that he and George Lucas had decided on a genre for a fifth adventure, Vulture caught up Lucas last night and learned that the story is still missing a crucial element: the MacGuffin.
"I mean, I know what it's about," Lucas said, "but I just have to find a MacGuffin that fits into the arena we're working in."
A term popularized by Alfred Hitchcock, a MacGuffin refers to a narrative element that drives the story forward. The Indiana Jones series is famous for making the MacGuffin the object of Dr. Jones' search. In the first film, it's the Ark of the Convenant, the second the Sankara Stones, the third the Holy Grail and the most recent the Crystal Skull.

[15.09.2011] Slashfilm.com meldet...
On Tuesday, Steven Spielberg appeared in LA after a screening of a new digital print of Raiders of the Lost Ark. The print was created from the same new master files that will ultimately be used to create a Blu-ray release. [...]
In his early comments after the Raiders screening, Spielberg highlighted that the audience saw the original version of Raiders as seen in first release. He crowed,
"This is the best I think it’s ever looked, because in preparation for the eventual release on blu-ray we had to correct the print again and get the original negative out of the salt mines, and then we had to do the separations, and basically the files, which are just amazing, with all the technology of today, without changing any of the movie materially, we haven’t removed anything, we haven’t added CGI, there’s no digital enhancements! It’s purely the movie you some of you may remember from 1981."
That suggests that even the few digital cleanups made for DVD, such as the erasing of a snake’s reflection in protective plexiglass, won’t be on the new blu-ray, which is great to hear. [...]

[21.08.2010] ShowbizSpy meldet...
SHIA LaBeouf says the fifth indiana Jones movie sounds "crazy".
The actor can't wait to reprise his role as Indy's son alongside Harrison Ford and has already had a sneak peek at the new adventure being planned by director Steven Spielberg.
"They’re script writing right now," says Shia. "I got called into Steven’s office and he pitched a little bit to me and it sounds crazy, it sounds really cool." [...]

[03.03.2010] BBC meldet...
Harrison Ford says an idea for the storyline for the fifth Indiana Jones film has been agreed.
The Hollywood actor says he, director Steven Spielberg and writer George Lucas have come up with a rough outline for the follow-up to Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
He said: "Steven [Spielberg] and George [Lucas] and I are sort of agreed on a germ of an idea and we're seeing what comes of it."
The last Indiana Jones film made more than £500m around the world and introduced Transformers actor Shia LaBeouf to the franchise.
Harrison Ford, 67, says despite coming up with an idea for the movie, people won't see the finished product for some time.
"The process works like this," he said. "We come to some basic agreement and then George goes away for a long time and works on it.
"Then Steven and I get it in some form, some embryonic form.
"Then if we like it we start working with George on it and at some point down the line it's ready and we do it." [...]

Sean Connery is set to return to the ‘Indiana Jones’ franchise.
The 79-year-old actor turned down the chance to reprise his role as the father of the daredevil archaeologist in last movie ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’, and the script hinted his character Professor Henry Jones had passed away.
However, creators on the next movie, the fifth in the hugely successful franchise, are planning to bring Henry back.
A source said: "Steven Spielberg has been working on a script with George Lucas and there is an element of the story that could see Sean returning. Anything is possible in these movies and if Sean wants to return he will become central to the new story." [...]

[15.09.2009] People.com sprach mit Harrison Ford über "Indy 5"...
[...] he's already ready for the globe-trotting archaeologist's next adventure, only a year after one of history's most successful film franchises was revived - and that the next chapter is already well on its way.
"The story for the new Indiana Jones is in the process of taking form," Ford told France's Le Figaro. "Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and myself are agreed on what the fifth adventure will concern, and George is actively at work. If the script is good, I'll be very happy to put the costume on again." [...]
In June, while promoting Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Shia LaBouef - who plays Indiana Jones' son, Mutt - told the BBC, "Steven's just said that he's cracked the story." [...]

[18.06.2009] Empire Online sprach mit dem Produzenten Frank Marshall über "Indy 5"...
On Monday Shia Labeouf let slip that a follow up to Indiana Jones And The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was on the cards and now Frank Marshall has pretty much confirmed it, suggesting that Indy V could be approaching the pencil-chewing script development stage.
Although he didn't specify timelines, Marshall told Empire that ideas would be worked on with a view to green-lighting production sooner rather than later. "It's really about the script," says the veteran Indy producer. "Once we see that, we'll see. We're not going to wait another 20 years. We'd all love to make another one. I'm anxious to hear the idea!"
But are Mssrs. Spielberg, Ford and Lucas equally sold on a fifth outing for the whip-cracking archeologist? "Yeah. We had a great time making the last one and, as Harrison said, we need to make this one soon. We're not getting any younger."
With Ford fast approaching his 67th birthday, time is definitely of the essence. Up may have raised the bar for the ageing adventurers, but Indy showed signs of creakiness in The Crystal Skull and it's safe to rule out too many rolling boulder chases or collapsing rope bridges from a further sequel. Hopefully the same goes for the gopher.
One caveat to all this is the lack of a concrete idea. As Marshall told us: "Until there's a script, nothing's definite. I haven't heard the idea." [...]

[...] Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen star Shia LaBeouf says that it looks like a follow-up to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is moving forward.
"Steven [Spielberg] just said that he cracked the story on it before I left and I think they're gearing that up," LaBeouf said. Last summer's blockbuster was made for about $185 million and earned $786.6 million worldwide. It was the second-highest earner of 2008, behind just The Dark Knight. [...]

[31.05.2009] DemoNews.de meldet...

ComingSoon.net: [...] You had huge success this summer with "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." Are you seriously thinking about another one? Harrison Ford's said there may be plans afoot.
George Lucas:
Yes - we're looking for a "MacGuffin," which is an object that he goes after. They're very hard to come by!
CS: Would you want to keep the whole family together for a film - Indy, Marion and Mutt?
Lucas:
It really depends on what it is Indy goes looking for and then how the story falls out of that, and then how convenient or inconvenient to have the group there. [...]

[22.11.2008] MTV sprach kürzlich mit Harrison Ford...
MTV: [...] Is a fifth Indiana Jones film inevitable?
Ford: I don’t know. If we come up with a good idea...
MTV: Is the ball in George’s court at this point?
Ford: It is. That’s the process. With some general input he goes off and searches for the MacGuffin and then stumbles into a story. And at some point we have a chance to take a look at and give some input.
MTV: And he hasn’t found the MacGuffin yet?
Ford: No, we’re still in the primary stages.
MTV: The end of the last film leaves your character in a very intriguing position. He has a wife and a kid. Can he still be that man of adventure with those commitments?
Ford: And he’s seen something. Remember those are the only witness to what he’s seen. That’s kind of interesting.

[15.10.2008] CS! sprach mit Karen Allen, u.a. über "Indiana Jones 5"...
Q: [...] How open are you to getting the band back together one more time or perhaps doing something with Shia if there was a spin-off done?
Allen:
I would say very open to it. This was a delightful experience and I would welcome it.
Q: Has anyone raised that possibility?
Allen:
Not really, except for fans. I've had a lot of people ask if there's going to be another one, but not anyone officially. Do you know something that I don't? [Laughs]
Q: If there were to be a fifth movie would you do it because you want to SEE it?
Allen:
I would just love to see where they would take it. I'm a fan in the sense that I'm interested in whatever George and Steven would come up with and whoever else they would bring aboard - David Koepp or whomever. I would just be interested in seeing where it does go from here. So now Shia is onboard and he's become this new and interesting part of Indy's life. I'd like to see them do another one because I'd like to know what happens next... And I'd also like to see how Marion and Indy, what that marriage would look like. So here we'd probably be coming up with the next one that was '56 and '57 and so by the time they'd do another one we'd be in the '60s, and that was a kind of interesting and transitional time for marriages anyway. Women were becoming more like Marion and less like that kind of Doris Day of female of the '50s. [...]

[04.10.2008] Die LA Times zitiert Harrison Ford, u.a. bzgl. "Indiana Jones 5" und "Indiana Jones Animated"...
Harrison Ford said Friday that momentum is building for a fifth movie in the "Indiana Jones" franchise and that George Lucas is already cooking up a suitable plot for a heroic senior citizen with a penchant for whips and fedoras.
"It's crazy but great," the 66-year-old Ford said. "George is in think mode right now." [...]
Now, though, the latest success and the fact that the franchise's old machinery was revived has Ford thinking a fifth movie is not only a viable idea, but an attractive one.
"It's automatic, really, we did well with the last one and with that having done well and been a positive experience, it's not surprising that some people want to do it again," Ford said.
I asked Ford who specifically is stirring up the idea of another revival, whether it was Lucas, Spielberg or the star himself? "Really, it comes from the ethos, from the ether. It's natural. It's a way of nature, of course, success breed opportunities ... also we don't stay as closely in contact as have in the last year, that's part of it."
Ford said, though, he would not be game to making an animated "Indiana Jones" film, a notion that became at least a possible option after Lucas took his "Star Wars" theatrical saga into the computer-generated realm with "The Clone Wars" this summer.
"I'm not philosophically against doing animation roles but not for Indiana Jones," Ford said. "I'd hate to see it reduced in any way from the movies that we have done and the way we have done them."
The iconic star said he had some doubts that his long-gone archaeologist hero would be an automatic 21st century sensation.
"It was never a lead-pipe cinch," Ford said. "It was a calculated business risk but I believe it paid off. I was somewhat surprised and gratified to see it did the business that it did. It was successful in almost every market. The first time we showed it to a disinterested outside audience was at Cannes. That' s a crap shoot of the first order. Not only is that audience sophisticated and film-knowledgable, it's French! And it's their country and their festival and we somewhat expected to be seriously slapped around. But we were not, we were embraced...it was very gratifying." [...]

[30.08.2008] Wie GameFront meldet, arbeitet LucasArts wohl an dem Actionspiel "Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings" für Nintendo DS und Sony PSP...

[...] George Lucas told reporters at the Cannes Film Festival that he already had an idea for a possible "Indiana Jones V," and that it centered, not on Dr. Henry Jones, but on his son, Mutt Williams (Shia LaBeouf).
Three knife-flipping, tree-swinging, accident having months later and that idea? It’s kind of, well, "Nuked the Fridge," Lucas told MTV News.
Asked whether he still considered Mutt Williams a strong enough character to drive an "Indiana Jones" film, Lucas was adamant that Indy just isn’t Indy without Indy. Or, to put it another way: No.
"Indiana Jones is Indiana Jones. Harrison Ford IS Indiana Jones," Lucas said, dismissively adding about a character he helped create that, "If it was Mutt Williams it would be ‘Mutt Williams and the Search for Elvis’ or something."
It’s unclear what changed Lucas’s mind about the character, or whether he would necessarily return at all - even in a sidekick capacity. That said, "The Search for Elvis" is hilarious.
Of course, talk of an eventual "Indiana Jones V" is something of a giant hypothetical anyway, even as Lucas continued to stroke the fire of anticipation at his Big Rock Ranch near San Francisco, insisting that work IS being done to find a suitable object for another installment.
"We ARE looking for something for him to go after," Lucas said. "They are very hard to find. It’s like archeology. It takes a huge amount of research to come up with something that will fit." [...]

[05.08.2008] SciFi.com sprach mit George Lucas über Teil 5...
[...] preliminary research has begun on a story for a possible fifth Indiana Jones movie, but added that such a film is one of dozens of potential projects currently crowding his schedule.
"It sits on the shelf there as one of 50 projects that I have to deal with," Lucas said in an interview on Aug. 4 at his Big Rock Ranch in San Rafael, Calif., where he was promoting the upcoming computer-animated feature film Star Wars: The Clone Wars. "And if I can come up with a story ..."
But, Lucas added: "It's very hard to come up with stories for that thing. You know, It's really impossible. Because it has to be real. It has to be something that actually happened. It has to be something people know about. It has to be supernatural. It's a really difficult research project. Which they're researching now. You know, and last time it took 14 years. So ... " [...]
